Call for Musicians

The Tri-Lakes Music Association is once again performing a community wide Christmas concert series in 2016. The proceeds from this event will be donated to Tri-Lakes Cares, a non-profit organization and create two college scholarships for two District #38 seniors.

The Tri-Lakes music association is recruiting musicians (vocal as well as instrumental) to perform in this concert. This event is made up of community volunteers that wish to give back to the Tri-Lakes region.

Currently rehearsals are:

- Every Sunday from 1:30 - 3:00 PM and every Monday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM for vocal rehearsals.  They are held at Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church at  20256 Hunting Downs Way, Monument, CO 80132

- Every Sunday from 1:30 - 3:30 for orchestra rehearsals.  They are held at Tri-Lakes United Methodist Church at  20256 Hunting Downs Way, Monument, CO 80132.  To obtain the music for your instrumentation, please contact Rose Dunphey at the. riverter@rocketmail.com and she can e-mail it to you.

“This event is truly a community wide happening, very similar to the very successful annual empty bowl dinner” said Manning. “The group that comes together to perform these musical works do it out of the goodness of their heart and soul. They spend countless hours preparing for and putting on a very professional concert. The groups are not made up of paid professionals but local community members who have a need, a desire, to give back to the community in which they live. This year, as in the years past, the proceeds go to help more than worthy causes at a time when our community needs this support. One organization that has benefitted from the concerts is Tri-Lakes Cares. They have done so many good things in the Monument community and are always in need of additional funding. Our first concert raised approximately $2600 and the remaining have raised about $4000 each yielding a total of about $35,000.00. We would love to top that amount this year but need everyone’s help if we are going to be successful. Two years ago the Tri-Lakes Music Association started the practice of giving two $500 scholarships to two deserving district #38 high school seniors, one to someone in the vocal program and one to someone in the band program. TLMA doesn’t require that they be music majors but will follow a “life long appreciation of music”.
